What's New for 2012? "Phase Three" for the Christmas Tree plantings...we
have added over 300 trees to the site behind the house. This should provide many exciting choices for those who are looking
for Balsam Fir, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, and Canaan Christmas Trees in the years to come. Our first planting area, around
the farm pond, has many new transplants and the second stage in the hedgerows is going strong! Now we wait... Herding and Instinct Testing Cancelled! Due to the economic conditions in
our area and because of the price of livestock feed is going up, we are no longer offering sheep or herding lessons.
We have also done away with our instinct testing. Few folks have the extra income for market lambs, herding lessons,
or the interest to commit to a set training schedule. This was a tough call for me to make, but it was a choice that made
room for more Christmas Trees! Herding Dog Puppies...I
have opted to not breed any Bouvier des Flandres or Border Collies for this year. My goal is in the training and developing
of our German Shepherds and the lines we plan on using for breeding down the road. Training isn't a part-time job and
it's time to enjoy some K-9 fun again. A season for ME. Our
Newbie. Gaines Farm Yaga is our new working lines German Shepherd female. She has lots of drive and
a great attitude. We started training at 7 weeks and she is showing great promise!
